Complex AAA
About

Abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA) are a major cause of mortality and morbidity, particularly in older patients. While most aneurysms involve the abdominal portion of the aorta, some patients will develop aneurysmal degeneration more proximally, involving the paravisceral and thoracic aorta. Repair of these aneurysms is considerably more complex.

Complex AAAs can now be treated with minimally invasive fenestrated and branched endovascular repair.
The recent commercial availability of fenestrated stent grafts is likely to result in increasing endovascular repair of complex AAAs, both juxtarenal and suprarenal.
