The 2020 VASSA Congress will mark the 18th Biennial Congress – a meeting that has come to be known for its international presence promoting academic excellence and research initiative.

The 2020 VASSA Congress will take place in Bloemfontein from the 22-25 October 2020.

The Vascular Society of Southern Africa (VASSA) was established in 1982 by a group of dynamic individuals that felt a need for the formation of a professional vascular society that would promote excellence in the development, teaching and practice of Vascular Surgery in South Africa.

The Society was established to fulfil the following objectives:

- To aim at the improvement & advancement of the study of vascular disease in general
- To act as mouthpiece for medical & paramedical persons with an interest in vascular disease
- The advancement of knowledge & the science of vascular surgery
- To stimulate research in all aspects of vascular diseases
