Time is flying quickly and it is a great pleasure to welcome you again to Vienna for the 13th Vienna Interdisciplinary Symposium on Aortic Repair (VISAR). International experts from different medical specialties will provide state-of-the-art educational lectures and discuss the management of complications in the treatment of aortic diseases. Due to the excellent feedback, we will continue and expand our hands-on session during the entire course. As the medical field, not only in Europe, is going through challenging times with regards to political and economic issues, we’ve decided to dedicate some of our sessions to these interesting themes.

This year, we have also decided to implement the program “Bring your resident(s) with you“.

Each resident that accompanies you, will get a 50 % reduction on the registration fee.

VISAR 2019 will focus mainly on 4 different topics:

• The Future of Aortic Disease – Political Aspects, Economic Aspects, Labor Aspects (EU, USA, Australia, Asia), Educational Aspects
• Guidelines – Experience – Intuition – What matters in the Operating Theater?
• Aortic Arch – Endovascular has come of age, but is it up to challenge open surgery, and where
• Thoracoabdominal aorta belongs in specialized centers – but what qualifies a specialized center?

Over the course of VISAR 2019, you’ll be informed about newest findings and knowledge related to aortic diseases, exchange with your peers and learn from international experts! Take the opportunity to actively participate in the debates & discussions and get educated by attending some of the small group hands-on sessions!

The program once again consists on a well-balanced mixture of hands-on training sessions on different topics related to aortic therapy as well as case presentations and state-of-the-art lectures on complication management. The hands-on training sessions include wet-lab training as well as workshops dedicated to perioperative patient care like spinal fluid catheter, for example. The main sessions are organized around “key-note cases” and provide multidisciplinary pro-and con debates on the highest level of experience to provide highest possible practical value for the attendees.
