Head of the Angiology and Vascular Surgery Service at the La Zarzuela University Hospital and La Moraleja University Hospital, Sanitas-BUPA, Madrid.

Ex-president of the Vascular Diagnosis Chapter of the Spanish Society of Angiology and Vascular Surgery. 

Principal Investigator of the Clinical Trial titled: VenaSeal Spectrum: Global, Post-Market, Prospective, Multi-Center, Randomized Controlled Trial of the VenaSeal™ Closure System vs. Surgical Stripping or Endothermal Ablation (ETA). 

Dr. Fontcuberta is a vascular surgeon with extensive experience in the treatment of venous insufficiency using radiofrequency thermal ablation, with more than 6,000 procedures performed with the Medtronic ClosureFast™ device. He also has extensive experience in the treatment of varicose veins with the VenaSeal device (1500 procedures). One of his main interests is to correctly select those patients most suitable for treatments in technical rooms or phlebology units outside the OR using the VenaSeal™ device.
