Vanessa Livingstone

Vanessa Livingstone

At UK Vein Clinic, Vanessa supports patients during their procedures and also leads the clinical pathway and aftercare team. 

Vanessa was born and raised in California, where she initially attended UC Berkeley for a BA in History, before she went on to complete a Bachelor of Nursing degree at the University of Glasgow. With a background in cardiovascular theatre nursing, Vanessa worked at St Thomas’ Hospital as the Venous Clinical Nurse Specialist and Venous Lead. With skills in advanced assessment, Vanessa is an independent nurse prescriber and leads the UK Vein Clinic nursing team.

Vanessa has extensive experience in developing and managing varicose vein treatment lists and providing care for patients with leg ulcers. With over 10 years experience in treating varicose veins, Vanessa looks forward to helping each patient in their journey to access world-class treatment that improves their quality of life.

Domenico Baccellieri

Domenico Baccellieri

Dr Domenico Baccellieri, a Consultant Vascular Surgeon at San Raffaele Research Hospital, has been leading advancements in vascular surgery since 2014. He heads the Vascular Diagnostic Area at San Raffaele and serves as Adjunct Professor of Vascular Surgery at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University. He also coordinates the Master Course in Aortic Surgery.

With over 5,000 surgical interventions, Dr Domenico Baccellieri specializes in both traditional and advanced endovascular procedures. He has extensive experience as the lead surgeon in treating arterial diseases involving the aorta, carotid, and peripheral vessels. Moreover, he has performed more than 1,000 operations for venous conditions, addressing issues like superficial reflux using methods like endothermal ablation. Additionally, he manages complex deep venous pathologies, including compressive syndromes and deep venous recanalization.

Dr Baccellieri's profound expertise and focus on venous diseases underline his commitment to advancing vascular surgery, ensuring optimal care for patients with varied vascular conditions.

Juan Manuel Fontcuberta

Juan Manuel Fontcuberta

Head of the Angiology and Vascular Surgery Service at the La Zarzuela University Hospital and La Moraleja University Hospital, Sanitas-BUPA, Madrid.

Ex-president of the Vascular Diagnosis Chapter of the Spanish Society of Angiology and Vascular Surgery. 

Principal Investigator of the Clinical Trial titled: VenaSeal Spectrum: Global, Post-Market, Prospective, Multi-Center, Randomized Controlled Trial of the VenaSeal™ Closure System vs. Surgical Stripping or Endothermal Ablation (ETA). 

Dr. Fontcuberta is a vascular surgeon with extensive experience in the treatment of venous insufficiency using radiofrequency thermal ablation, with more than 6,000 procedures performed with the Medtronic ClosureFast™ device. He also has extensive experience in the treatment of varicose veins with the VenaSeal device (1500 procedures). One of his main interests is to correctly select those patients most suitable for treatments in technical rooms or phlebology units outside the OR using the VenaSeal™ device.

Senior principal engineer and technical fellow at Medtronic - Over 19 years medical device industry experience on Interventional Cardiovascular (IC), endoVenous and Peripheral Vascular. Experienced on: tissue ablation, such as ablation with Radio-Frequency(RF), laser, chemical, mechanical and mechanical/chemical combination; balloon catheter (POBA and IC stent balloon delivery); self expanded Nitinol stent and related deliver system; design for Six Sigma for robust device reliability.

John Elhard is a seasoned professional with 20+ years in the medical device industry. Currently a Senior R&D Engineer at Medtronic (PVH), he's contributed significantly to projects like Cierra and Versa. His extensive career includes pivotal roles at Medtronic (CS), St Jude Medical (Abbott), Enpath Medical (Integer), and Lifecore Biomedical, covering areas from manufacturing surgical ablation devices to cardiac leads. With a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from North Dakota State University, Elhard's expertise spans R&D and manufacturing, making him a valuable asset in the medical device field.

Sarah Thole

Principal engineer within the Medtronic Peripheral Vascular Health business. B.S Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Over 8 years medical device industry experience developing Single Use Disposables and Peripheral Vascular products including Vein Closure (Radiofrequency Ablation) and Embolization devices. Experienced with large volume infusion systems, subcutaneous infusion systems, radiofrequency (RF) ablation systems, and liquid embolics.
