VEITH 22 - In this video from VEITHsymposium's 2022 scientific sessions, we are joined by Dr Alik Farber, Dr Kenneth Rosenfield and Dr Matthew Menard to discuss the late-breaking findings of the BEST-CLI trial. BEST-CLI aimed to compare the effectiveness of the best available surgical treatment with the best available endovascular treatment in patients with critical limb ischemia. Over 1800 patients were enrolled in the study.

Questions:

  1. What was the rationale for this trial? What are the unmet needs of patients with CLTI?
  2. Can you outline the study design and some of the key considerations?
  3. What were the baseline characteristics of the patients enrolled?
  4. What are the results?
  5. How should these findings inform patient care? What were some of the limitations?
  6. What are the next steps?

Recorded remotely from Boston, 2022.
