LINC 2024 - In this short interview, Dr Michael Lichtenberg (Vascular Centre Clinic Arnsberg, DE) discusses the findings of a study that researched the cost-effectiveness of intravascular ultrasound-guided peripheral vascular interventions in patients with femoropopliteal peripheral artery disease.
A two-step model was developed from a German healthcare payer perspective to estimate the costs and outcomes over a one-year and lifetime period. Clinical events included in the study were target lesion revascularisation, amputations and death. A sensitivity analysis was also performed to measure the robustness of the results.
Interview Questions:
- What is the importance of this study?
- Could you tell us about the study design?
- What are the key findings?
- What are the implications of these findings on clinical practice?
Recorded remotely from Arnsberg, 2024.
